This Baulkham hills Landscaping Project was Aspen Landscapings first landscaping project. It involved a complete demolition of the existing pergola, retaining walls and concrete pavers. The client wanted a high end and luxurious feel to their outdoor entertaining area. The scope required us to incorporate the existing pool spa into the outdoor space.
Initially, the client had flooding issues and wanted a new concrete floor finish to the area. After demolition, we decided to go with a timber deck. This meant we could lay ag-pipe and blue metal drainage material beneath the deck to alleviate any future flooding. It also gave a warm and inviting feel to this huge outdoor space
BACK YARD
The clients wanted a luxurious space to invite friends with bucket loads of entertaining space. We also had to bring this project in on a budget. Through innovative ideas we give a luxurios feel behind simple and cost effective construction methods. An inexpensive timber sleeper retaining wall was clad with spotted gum. The natural look and feel immediately made the space seem seamless and high end. All at a fraction of the cost of a masonry retaining wall.
Spotted gum timber was used for the decking to extend this luxurious and seamless feel. Beneath the deck we laid a series of ag-line and free drainage material to ensure no standing water from excessive rain.
To provide some contrast to the outdoor space, we constructed a paved area using 600x600mm porcelain pavers. It provided a connection between the client’s home office and the main entertaining area. Large format blue stone slabs were cut on site to cover the existing curved stairs leading to the upper lawn area.
Finally, a very sleek pergola was constructed using steel posts, beams and purlins. The frame was covered in Stratco Cooldek insulated roof panels. The panels give a classy pre-finished ceiling surface and allows outdoor downlights to be set into the panel.
