This Glenwood Landscape Project involved revamping the client’s entertaining area and bringing the indoors out. Through matching the internal spotted gum in the construction of their spotted gum hardwood decking, we achieved that. The works also involved excavating their poor condition turf and importing fresh turf underlay and a brand new Matilda Buffalo lawn
FRONT YARD LANDSCAPE
The works involved excavating approximately a 100mm layer of turf and soil (total of approx 10 cubuc metres). soil was excavated from the client’s front yard, including nature strips. We improved the soil condition by importing and levelling approx 10 cubic metres of turf underlay. A fresh and durable new lawn was laid using Matilda buffalo turf variety. It has been proven to deal with sun, shade and drought conditions. Below the turf, an automated watering system was installed to enhance the quality, appearance and life of the lawn. This in turn reduces the amount of time and manual maintenance required by the client.
BACK YARD LANDSCAPE
The clients wanted to re-vamp their entertaining area and entice them to use this outdoor space again. They also wanted to bring the feel of their indoor space outdoors through using the same materials. We built a low level decking frame using H3 treated pine framing timber, built to australian standards. Spacers were used to ensure the timber would not be in direct contact with any water or moisture. We used Spotted Gum decking to match the timber flooring used internally. The boards were secured using stainless steel screws to ensure the decks longevity, especially as it was constructed adjacent to the clients pool. The deck was finished using a natural water based oil.
